There are 24 characters in Mario Kart Wii, and you can use your Mii as the rider! There's the blue Mii character and the red Mii character, but the red Mii is better, because it's got higher stats. There are 8 small, 8 medium and 8 large characters, and they have different skills for each. When you get the game, you start with only 12 characters, and you have to unlock the rest.
